Jennie Lane
Felt Maker
My work consists of handmade felt wall hangings which I embroider and appliqué with free embroidery.
My inspiration stems from childhood memories.
I enjoy looking at my primary school work and take great pleasure in reproducing a child's approach to drawing.
I recreate patterns and scenes from the environment around me.
I enjoy making my own felt and I am fascinated with it as a medium.
Free embroidery allows me to recreate fine delicate lines that young children make whilst drawing and writing.
I use different threads and fabrics to create a range of patterns.
Exhibiting my work at an Open Air Art Show in Queenstown, New Zealand 2012
